Earlier on Thursday, we covered multiple claims made in Italy that explained Leeds United have made a €28m offer to sign Weston McKennie in the winter market. It was also stated the Whites’ proposal is €7m short of Juventus’ demands.
Sport Mediaset have echoed this and they then insist the Serie A side don’t want to lower the price below €35m for the midfielder, a figure which seems excessive. The difference between the two clubs doesn’t mean a deal cannot be carried out this month.
It’s claimed ‘work is being done’ between Leeds and the Turin club to ‘meet halfway’ to agree a deal for the 24-year-old.
The report explains that an agreement is ‘likely to be reached eventually’ between the two teams.
Juventus, down their end, are already planning to invest the money from the American’s impending sale to sign a new wing-back in the current window.
This hints the ex-Schalke man’s transfer to the Premier League is on the right track. In fact, Sport Mediaset claim McKennie is ‘one step away’ from leaving Juventus in January.
