Real Betis youngster Luiz Henrique has insisted he is “very well” at the club when asked about interest from Aston Villa.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say that his response is a ‘forceful and clarifying’ statement that he has no intention to leave the Spanish side.

Henrique has emerged as one of the up-and-coming young stars in La Liga this season with a series of impressive performances for Real Betis since his arrival in the summer.

His performances have reportedly put him on the radar of several clubs, including Aston Villa, who have already taken Alex Moreno away from Betis this month.

Several reports have made it clear they are keen on the Brazilian, with it stated that they have ‘approached’ the player about a transfer to Villa Park.

Estadio cover that today and explain that Betis are not interested in a sale, believing it would be the wrong time to sell the youngster, who is developing ‘at a spectacular rate’ this season.

Betis are more than aware of the growing interest in their player and the reports from England, particularly that Aston Villa are ‘ready to make an offensive’ for him either now or in June.

The news has also been picked up in Spain where, after a Betis training session at Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol, Henrique was asked about the ‘insistent rumours’ of Aston Villa’s interest.

He was asked whether he was staying at Betis and responded “Yes, yes, I’m very well here” in response. That was seen as a ‘forceful and clarifying’ message, despite its brevity and ‘enough to reassure’ Betis that he wouldn’t be going anywhere in the near future.

Thus, it seems Villa won’t be getting him and may be best served turning their attention elsewhere for the time being.
