Roma are ‘still looking’ at the Premier League for potential additions and that could lead them to a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez.
That’s according to Roma Giallorossa, who say Wolves may sell the Mexico star in the summer and Roma could be interested if they do.
The website claims that the ‘latest name approached’ by the Italian club is Jimenez, who is ‘finding little space’ under Julen Lopetegui at Molineux.
He faces increased competition upfront after Wolves spent big on improving their forward line in January and the return of Sasa Kalajdzic at the end of the season will only increase that.
It means Wolves are now ‘more than willing’ to let him leave and Roma would be interested as Jose Mourinho knows him well from his time working in the Premier League.
Furthermore Jorge Mendes, who has plenty of interest at Wolves and Roma, and is Mourinho’s agent as well, is ‘also in favour’ of the move happening.
There is no mention of a transfer fee, which will be required given Jimenez’s contract doesn’t expire until June 2024, or whether the player himself would be interested in the switch.
Roma are keen, though, while Wolves are said to want him out and Mendes thinks it makes sense, which are three big pillars already built for a potential switch.
