Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of the clubs who are interested in Benfica striker Petar Musa, according to reports from Portugal.
Newspaper Record is today covering the race for the player, taking claims from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio which say Genoa are trying his signing.
The outlet then adds some of their own information, claiming that other clubs such as Wolves, Bologna and Midtjylland are also interested in the 25-year-old.
Musa has 23 appearances for Benfica this season, with six goals and two assists, but with the arrival of Marcos Leonardo from Santos this month, he’s expected to get less playing time.
The word in Italy is that Genoa are making an offer for a loan with an option to buy, triggered by goals scored, but there’s still no agreement on how much that clause would cost.
So if Wolves are really keen on winning that race, they better get ready to put something interesting on the table. The Molineux side have good connections in Portugal, and it wouldn’t take a lot of work to start speaking to Benfica about that possibility.
