Earlier today we covered a report from the media close to Genoa which made it sound like Wolves forward Fabio Silva was on the verge of signing for the Serie A club.
It was even suggested the transfer could be sorted out today, or at least fully agreed ahead of the formalities.
Then further claims came from Italy which talked that down, and now the Spanish media have got in on the act and brought Real Betis into the picture
Estadio Deportivo is the sports newspaper for the Seville region and on Thursday afternoon they’re reporting Real Betis are moving for the old target of local rivals Sevilla.
According to the reports, ‘Fabio Silva’s entourage has assured Estadio Deportivo that Betis consider him a priority’.
The same is said of Genoa and Werder Bremen. A proposal from Betis is expected ‘in the next few days’, with the Spanish club having asked, presumably either Wolves or the player’s camp, what the conditions of a transfer would be.
This potential transfer may crash when Betis realise what Wolves’ demands really are. The Premier League club are said to be looking for a permanent move, or at least a commitment to buy at the end of a loan and it’s unlikely Betis would jump for that.
Whether this is all to put pressure on Genoa or others is unclear.
