Following initial reports from England claiming Wolverhampton Wanderers made an offer for Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto, it’s now time for the Brazilian press to give their take.
ESPN Brasil journalist Raul Moura shows up to confirm that Wolves’ bid ‘reached’ the Brazilian side’s table.
The Molineux side are reportedly trying to sign Yuri Alberto on a loan deal with an option to buy, with the numbers not revealed yet.
That’s the only information the Brazilian media brought about this attempt so far, so it’s very likely the offer literally just arrived at Corinthians.
Yuri Alberto has been struggling at the club since last year, and in the current season, he doesn’t have any goals in four appearances.
Last night, Corinthians lost the derby to São Paulo at their home for the first time, and the striker got booed when leaving the pitch.
That may be one of the reasons why he would push for a transfer, although a loan with an option to buy may not be convincing enough for his club.
We shall see in the coming hours, but Wolves now have a race against the clock to try and get a deal done before the transfer window shuts.
