Wolverhampton Wanderers could be set for a nice financial boost with Rúben Vinagre set to leave Sporting Club de Portugal and join Hellas Verona.
Record cover the player today and explain he’s now set for the latest in a series of loan moves, with a deal in place for him to join the Italian side until the end of the season.
Indeed, he is expected to be presented by them in the next few hours, with a deal agreed for him to join on loan initially until the end of the season with the Italians having the option to make it permanent for €4m.
That deal would also see Sporting retain a 10% right on a future transfer for the player, who hasn’t been able to settle in Portugal or anywhere else, with loans at Everton and Hull City failing to work out.
He had previously been at Wolves but fell out of favour there and moved to Sporting in 2022 but has struggled to establish himself in Portugal and now they’re sending him out again in the hope of securing a permanent exit.
That’s something Wolves will be keeping an eye on, though, as they kept a 50% sell-on clause when they sold him to the Portuguese side 18 months ago.
Thus, they could be set to pocket €2m if he impresses Hellas Verona and they move for him permanently, a small sum but a welcome one, nonetheless.
