RB Leipzig forward Hee-chan Hwang is set to join Wolverhampton Wanderers before the end of the transfer window.

That’s according to BILD, who say negotiations are underway with the German side to make the move happen.

They explain that after the recent departure of Alexander Sorloth on loan to Real Sociedad. Hwang is set to follow him.

He has ‘almost reached’ an agreement with Wolves over a move, although whether it will be a loan move or permanent sale is yet to be defined.

The departure ‘comes unexpectedly’ as Hwang actually wanted to stay this year and prove himself under Jesse Marsch.

However, the competition after the arrival of Andre Silva and Brian Brobbey means competition is ‘extremely high’ at the club.

That’s led to a change of heart for the forward, who had wanted to leave in the January transfer window but was convinced against it by former manager Julian Nagelsmann.

He’s now set to make his exit this summer instead, with Wolves close to a deal, according to the newspaper.
