Benfica winger Jota is set to join Celtic on loan, with the two clubs already reaching an agreement on the deal.

That’s according to Record, who back up claims from Scotland that the player would be making his way to the SPFL before deadline day.

They say that the two clubs have ‘already reached an agreement’ to loan the winger for a year, with Celtic also having an option to buy at the end of it.

Jota is keen on the move as he is not a part of Benfica’s plans for this season and wants to continue playing regularly after a loan spell at Real Valladolid last season.

Several options were on the table but he elected to go with Celtic, who can also offer him Europa League football.

He is set to travel to Glasgow soon, presumably for a medical and to finalise the move, and is expected to start training with his new team early next week.
