Sporting Club de Portugal are confident that they can secure a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Chiquinho this summer, with it ‘not credible’ that he stays at Molineux.
That’s according to O Jogo, who report that the Portuguese side are keen on the player and confident Wolves will sanction a deal.
The newspaper explains that while Chiquinho has been called up by Wolverhampton for their pre-season schedule, even travelling with them to a pre-season training camp, it is ‘not credible’ that he will actually join the squad.
Instead, a departure seems likely after his loan spell at Famalicão last season and Sporting are keen on a deal as he ‘meets the requirements appreciated by Rúben Amorim.’
O Jogo report that if a proposal worth €10m were to be offered, Chiquinho ‘will be released’ by Wolves.
So far there has not been any direct contact between the two clubs but there are conversations happening between intermediaries to assess the possibility of the 24-year-old moving to Sporting this summer.
All indications are that Wolves don’t want him, even though he’s been summoned back to the club and is on the list for pre-season at this moment in time.
