The Mexican media now sounds very sure that Santiago Gimenez will leave Feyenoord at the end of the season, and Arsenal are named as one of the main contenders for the signing.

The latest update on the striker’s future comes from Record, who had a live show with their director Enrique Beas speaking about the situation.

The journalist claims that Gimenez already decided that he’s leaving Feyenoord this summer, and among the favourite destinations is Arsenal.

“He feels that his cycle at Feyenoord is over and he is ready to start activating contact with three very important institutions. The relationship with each of them is different, although one is not more advanced than the other, there are different levels of interest. It is not speculation and the Mexican will have to make a decision between Arsenal, Juventus and Atletico Madrid,” said Beas.

Gimenez has been linked to several European sides in the past few months, and it’s not only Arsenal who’ve been said to be interested in bringing him to the Premier League. Now it’s actually interesting that the Gunners are named in such a shortlist of options for the Mexican player.

The striker is having a good season at Feyenoord, with 24 goals and six assists in 39 matches. He’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €45m, although a battle for his signing could definitely bring his price up, and we shall see how much Arsenal would put on the table.
