Real Betis have been chasing West Ham United’s Pablo Fornals for the past few weeks and are yet to reach an agreement with the Premier League side.

On Monday, ABC Sevilla reported the Hammers want a reasonable fee to part ways with the 27-year-old in the winter market.

Today’s Mundo Deportivo has a report on the West Ham player, with a title that reads: ‘Betis insist on hiring Fornals’.

Within the report, it’s said that negotiations between the two clubs for the midfielder are ‘still underway’.

The newspaper adds the Spain international could join Manuel Pellegrini’s side on a loan deal or through a permanent sale. The latter option would be feasible if Real Betis collect €16m plus €4m bonuses from Luiz Henrique’s sale to Botafogo.

Fornals has made 23 appearances for West Ham this season, mostly as a substitute.

It’s claimed the only condition David Moyes’ side are imposing is that they want to secure Fornals’ replacement before letting him leave.

Time is running out for Real Betis to sign Fornals and for West Ham to bring in a new midfielder.
