For weeks, the Andalusian media have talked about Real Betis’ firm desire to sign West Ham United’s Pablo Fornals in the winter market.

At the weekend, ABC Sevilla stated the La Liga side have reached a ‘solid agreement’ with the 27-year-old and are negotiating a deal with the Hammers.

Real Betis have to carry out a few exits before signing the West Ham player and this is again highlighted in Monday’s edition of Diario de Sevilla.

Luiz Henrique is one of the main candidates to leave the club and the report says today is the key date to resolve his situation, after Real Betis reached an agreement with Botafogo for a deal around €20m.

It’s claimed the Brazilian’s sale would give Real Betis more options to sign Fornals, who is very much to the liking of their manager, Manuel Pellegrini.

The issue is, Pellegrini last week surprised everyone by saying he needs Henrique, which felt like a message to his board about other signings.

West Ham want a reasonable fee for Fornals, and simply won’t swerve from this, which is entirely the correct position.

Diario de Sevilla explain that the Spanish club ‘already know’ the conditions needed to take him away from David Moyes’ side.

The January window closes in a few days and time is running out for Real Betis to sign Fornals.
