Earlier today, Olé stated West Ham United want to sign FC Copenhagen’s Rodrigo Huescas in the summer window.
It was also reported West Ham have been monitoring the right-back for months and were finally convinced to bet on him after his performance against Brøndby IF last weekend.
Olé’s claim about West Ham is relayed by Tipsbladet, who then provide their own take.
The 21-year-old has been found guilty of dangerous driving, but the report states it hasn’t stopped him from attracting interest. There had been a worry he could lose his visa and that would have put a serious problem in the way for him.
As well as the Hammers, unnamed clubs from France and Germany are keeping an eye on Huescas’ situation at the Danish club. The Mexico international joined Copenhagen from Cruz Azul in July 2024 and signed a contract until 2029.
At this moment in time, there’s been no concrete approach, or a firm offer on the table.
The player and his club aren’t thinking about a transfer either in the upcoming window. Instead, both are focusing on the summer of 2026, when the next World Cup will take place.
The fullback wants to represent Mexico in the tournament that’ll take place on their home soil. His participation will improve valuation, and this is something what Copenhagen are also betting on.
Tipsbladet state West Ham or another club have to make a ‘shock bid’ if Copenhagen are to sell him in the summer. There’s no clarity on the fee needed to convince them to sanction the Mexican’s sale.
