Valencia coach Carlos Corberán is worried about the situation around Aston Villa loanee Enzo Barrenechea, with any deal to keep him unlikely to be done until late in the transfer window.
That’s according to El Desmarque, who report that Valencia are aware that keeping the Aston Villa man beyond this season is ‘more than complicated’.
The midfielder has been on loan in Valencia since the summer but there is no pre-arranged purchase option in the loan deal.
Furthermore, Aston Villa’s demands for a deal, even at their lowest, ‘far exceed’ the financial means currently available at the Spanish club.
The belief is that any deal for Barrenechea will be done late in the window, but this displeases Valencia coach Carlos Corberán. He wants to have his players available to him as soon as possible to prepare for pre-season.
Several reports have made it clear that Aston Villa don’t plan to do any early deal with the midfielder as Unai Emery would prefer to take a look at him in pre-season himself. They are also presumably concerned at Valencia currently rushing Barrenechea back from an ankle injury.
Both clubs have very different ideas at this moment in time, something that won’t lead to a deal being done anytime soon.
