Earlier this week, Enzo Le Fée announced that he wanted to leave FC Lorient at the end of the season since the club never offered him the contract he wanted.
That led to West Ham United, as well as other clubs, being linked with the young midfielder, who looks like an ideal opportunity in the summer transfer window.
Partially because he’s talented, but also because he isn’t on that much money at Lorient, as revelled by L’Equipe on Thursday.
Few are, to be fair, since they have a salary cap of €90k/month max for their players, and Le Fée currently earns €65k/month, which equates to around £14.5k/week.
That’s peanuts for a Premier League club like West Ham, who, should they decide to spend €25m on him this summer, could offer him a huge pay rise.
It also means he won’t be asking for the moon to start with, which could help the Hammers in future negotiations.
Whether West Ham do come forward is likely to depend on what league they are playing in next year, though, as they are currently in a relegation battle under David Moyes.
