West Ham United have seen a bid for Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup rejected by the Italian side.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who report that West Ham will need to seriously up their efforts if they are to convince the Italians into a sale.
West Ham are expected to be busy on the transfer market this summer to reshape their current squad for new manager Julen Lopetegui.
They’ve already completed two deals, bringing in Wes Foderingham on a free transfer and Luis Guilherme in a €23m deal from Palmeiras.
They are unlikely to be the only deals they do, and it seems they’ve now turned their attention to trying to reinforce their midfield.
Tavolieri reports that they’ve submitted a €25m offer for Morten Frendrup but saw that immediately rejected by the Serie A team.
According to his information Genoa consider the Danish midfielder as unsellable, insisting that he will not be on the market unless a big offer comes in. It seems they don’t consider West Ham’s €25m offer as big enough then.
That would give them a considerable profit on the €3.9m they paid Brondby for the midfielder in January 2022, but it seems they’re not interested and West Ham will need to offer significantly more if they wish to sign Frendrup this summer.
