West Ham United have only scored 19 goals from 23 league games and their poor record has seen them currently languish in the relegation zone.
The Hammers bolstered their attack by adding Gianluca Scamacca, Lucas Paquetá and Maxwel Cornet to their squad last summer, and also brought in Danny Ings from Aston Villa in the winter market.
Despite making several additions, West Ham haven’t seen an improvement when finding the back of the net in the league.
Scamacca has seven goals from 24 matches in all competitions this season, but only three of these have been in the league.
His last outing was on January 14th as an injury forced him to miss the next three games.
The Italy international was left on the bench in West Ham’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, where David Moyes brought Ings from the bench instead of the 24-year-old.
Gazzetta dello Sport have urged Moyes to use Scamacca as they believe ‘West Ham need him’ for the upcoming fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa.
The newspaper further adds the player ‘can’t wait to come off the bench’ and get back to his best form.
Time will tell if Moyes will hand minutes to Scamacca or rely on others in the next few weeks.
