Fanatik claim that after AS Monaco’s offer of €30m for Domagoj Vida, West Ham United are set to make a fresh attempt to sign the Besiktas defender.
Last week it was reported West Ham have offered €22m for the Croatia international, but Besiktas were looking for €25m. It’s now claimed the Turkish club could be looking for bids above €30m, and things seem to be leaving reality behind.
The Turkish newspaper say West Ham are hoping to beat Monaco to the signature of Vida, and Besiktas are currently waiting on another offer from the Hammers.
Vida impressed in this summer’s World Cup with Croatia, and Fanatik said the player will return to preseason training next week. In the meantime, the Turkish newspaper claim Vida, his agent Ugur Avadan and Besiktas president Fikret Orman will evaluate the offers and then decide on his future.
West Ham could also face competition from fellow Premier League side Liverpool, who have been strongly linked with the 29 year old in recent weeks.
Besiktas are very close to making a good profit for Vida after they signed the player on a free transfer just six months ago.
