West Ham United signed only one player in the winter transfer window, as Evan Ferguson arrived on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.

The striker role was a position that the Hammers wanted to strengthen in. Before signing Ferguson, it seems as if the London club also pursued another target.

Marca report that West Ham United were keen on signing Real Madrid’s Endrick in January. While a host of other clubs also wanted the 18-year-old, the Hammers operated with ‘most insistence’ in their approach for the teenager. They made contact with his entourage for a loan deal.

Despite their intentions, West Ham United received refusals from Los Blancos. Endrick himself also rejected the approaches.

The talent is said to be patient at Real Madrid and has been assured that he will get more game time in the remainder of the season.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti has some plans for Endrick’s future. The report believes that Endrick is sure that this is a learning curve for him and he wants to experience all of that while staying at Real Madrid.
