Charly Alcaraz’s loan move to Everton will become permanent once he has started six games for the Toffees.

That’s according to journalist Venê Casagrande, who provides the finer details of the loan move and the agreement between Everton and Flamengo today.

He reports that the loan deal taking Alcaraz to Everton includes a purchase obligation which will activate once he has started six games under David Moyes. It was previously reported this would be eight appearances.

That obligation clause is set at £15m fixed and has £3m in additional bonuses through other goals once he has been purchased. So, Flamengo can earn around £18m from the sale if all of these are met.

Everton won’t pay this in one instalment, though, instead the cost will be spread out over instalments across three years. Casagrande doesn’t explain how that works but assuming it is monthly payments, that would be around £400,000 a month.

They won’t be activated until he’s featured as a starter in six games anyway, so Everton have managed to delay on that front.

It now remains to be seen if he does start the required games so that clause kicks in, with Everton potentially delaying paying for him until their finances are in better shape.
