Rasmus Kristensen has been a regular for Eintracht Frankfurt since joining them from on loan from Leeds United last summer. At the time of negotiations, the German club secured a purchase option of €15m.

The right-back’s good start for the German club led to reports in October that the Bundesliga side want to buy him.

This was quickly played down by Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung. He then said they have to hold talks with Leeds to retain the 27-year-old after this season.

In November, Bild reported the Bundesliga club’s desire is to pay less than €10m for the Leeds owned player. The outlet relayed the same information again on January 28th.

This week’s edition of SportBild have a report on Eintracht Frankfurt’s Dino Toppmöller contract situation as the current one expires in 2026.

Towards the end, they look at the Denmark international’s future beyond this season. The German club can make his stay permanent by exercising the €15m purchase clause they negotiated with the Whites last summer.

Eintracht Frankfurt don’t want to exercise the clause and want the reduce Kristensen’s price well below €10m. The German magazine claims it’s ‘questionable’ whether Leeds will accept this condition.

Toppmöller’s side have used the local media to repeatedly push they want to pay much less than €10m for the Dane. At this point, it feels like there’s a lack of respect for Leeds United, and certainly little respect being given to the agreement made at the time of the move.
