It appears that West Ham United, despite not sacking David Moyes just yet, are indeed working to replace the manager at the end of the season.

The latest name to be brought into the fray has been Paulo Fonseca, currently at Lille in Ligue 1, where he has enjoyed a good season.

West Ham’s interest in him was revealed in England, and it has found some sort of confirmation in France courtesy of Foot01.

The French website reveal their own information on the matter on Thursday after contacting the entourage of the Portuguese manager, and explain West Ham wanting is ‘very real’, and that it even became ‘concrete through talks with his agent’ regarding working together next year.

The Hammers see him as ‘perfect’ to relaunch their project, and furtherer discussions are expected to take place at the end of the season.

That’s because Fonseca has made it clear he wants to focus on Lille for now, as they are in line for a potential European spot.

Either way, West Ham ‘absolutely want’ him to take over next year, which we’re guessing also depends on whether they get relegated or not.
