West Ham United could bring Sergi Roberto to the Premier League this summer, after Tottenham Hotspur didn’t make progress to sign him.

That’s according to Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo, which states the 32-year-old has held talks with Tottenham.

It’s claimed a deal to take the Spaniard to Tottenham ‘did not progress’ and West Ham are now one of the options he could pick him from.

The right-back, who can also operate as a midfielder, has been without a club since his deal at Barcelona expired on June 30th. On Tuesday, the versatile player said goodbye to the Catalan club.

Mundo state Roberto has to make a decision on his next club in less than three weeks. When discussing his suitors, the report states West Ham, Sevilla, Girona, Ajax, Fiorentina and Como are all interested in securing his services.

The newspaper also claims clubs from MLS and Saudi Arabia have tried to tempt him, but his desire is to continue in Europe. He has important proposals from the top European leagues, although the report doesn’t make it clear if West Ham have sent an offer to him.

Mundo Deportivo state t’ll ‘not take long’ before Roberto makes a decision about his future.
