West Ham United ‘give in’ and have sanctioned a departure for midfielder Pablo Fornals, who is set to join Real Betis.
That’s according to AS, who say the Spanish side have got their man after West Ham relented in negotiations between the two sides.
The newspaper explains that Betis are still waiting to see what happens with Luiz Henrique, whose departure seemed certain but has now become shrouded in mystery after which club he actually signed for became confused.
Either way, a deal is expected to go through and bring in around €16m, as well as free up the salary limit at the club so that they can go for a new player.
The man they’ve chosen, and have been after since December, is West Ham’s Pablo Fornals and there has been positive movement on that front too.
According to the newspaper West Ham have ‘given up somewhat’ on their initial claims for the midfielder in the last few hours and are now willing to accept a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option or ‘easy variables’.
Thus, Betis are now racing ahead to get the deal over the line before the January transfer window deadline on February 1st, hoping to close the deal as soon as possible and give manager Manuel Pellegrini the West Ham reunion he’s seemingly been longing for.
