Edson Álvarez and Kōnstantinos Mavropanos could end up staying at West Ham United amid exit links, according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The 26-year-old midfielder joined the Hammers from Ajax in August 2023 and impressed in his debut season.
Florian Plettenberg claims West Ham consider Álvarez as a key player and are planning to have him for this season. This clearly indicates the Premier League side’s desire to retain him.
The Mexico international has received requests from elsewhere, without providing the details of those clubs. Plettenberg says West Ham will only consider parting ways with him if there’s an ‘exceptional’ offer.
Álvarez’s deal lasts until 2028 and there’s no mention of the fee needed to convince the London club.
Meanwhile, Mavropanos has recently been linked with a move to VfB Stuttgart. The Sky journalist has dismissed it by stating that these claims are ‘wide of the mark’.
The 26-year-old Greece international also has a contract lasting until 2028. Plettenberg claims the defender has ‘no intention’ of leaving Julen Lopetegui’s side this summer.
Barring any fresh developments, the former Ajax man and the centre-back are expected to continue at West Ham.
