West Ham are very close to sealing a deal to sign Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina, but that may not be the only defensive signing the Hammers are pushing forward with.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Premier League are now in the picture to sign Pervis Estupiñán from Villarreal. The reason this is being reported in Italy is Napoli interest, with the Serie A club on the case for over a week now.
Corriere dello Sport say ‘West Ham appear’, and it’s explained the club have made some sort of contact over the signing, although it’s not clear if that’s with the player’s agent or directly with the La Liga side.
This causes worry for Napoli because David Moyes’ side, being a Premier League club, ‘don’t seem to have any economic problems’.
Over at CalcioNapoli24 they’re confident the move to West Ham is actually happening, saying Estupiñán is ‘destined’ to join the English club and has ‘chosen’ them over Napoli.
The 23-year-old left-back played 25 La Liga matches last season for Villarreal.
