Richard Ríos has been linked with a string of Premier League clubs this year, which makes it clear there’s an attempt, likely from his camp, to push a move to the Premier League or at least to European football.

In January of this year, the Palmeiras midfielder was initially linked with Nottingham Forest, who keep a very close eye on the Brazilian market, before then being linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.

West Ham United, Fulham and others have been thrown in along the way, and there’s also interest in Ríos from outside the Premier League.

Monday’s edition of Portuguese newspaper O Jogo covers interest from FC Porto. They want the Colombia international, have funds to spend this summer, but know it will be tough to convince Palmeiras.

West Ham and Fulham are the only two clubs named as competition for Ríos, who turns 25-years-of-age today.

Porto face Palmeiras on June 15th at the Club World Cup, therefore the Brazilian club would obviously be reluctant to sell one of their stars to their upcoming opponents. The competition carries a bigger importance in South America, which also means it’s likely for Palmeiras, and Ríos himself, to want to wait until it’s concluded.

O Jogo aren’t aware whether West Ham or Fulham are rushing ahead, but given the reasons above it may be futile to do so just yet.
