Rangers’ Robin Pröpper can return to FC Twente this summer, a year after leaving them to move to Ibrox.
Earlier this month, Tubantia reported Twente had agreed a deal in principle to sign the centre-back and were waiting for Rangers’ new management to make a decision on him.
Pröpper played over 3,200 minutes from 43 games for Rangers last season. Despite the role he had at Ibrox, he could still leave Russell Martin’s side for the Dutch club.
On Monday, Twente technical director Jan Streuer talked about the possibility of the 31-year-old returning there.
RTV Oost cover those comments and adds Twente’s manager, Joseph Oosting, ‘makes no secret of the fact’ that he will welcome the Rangers player in this window. They have also relayed comments from the Twente coach.
“I have been in contact with him via the app. We would like to have Robin. Will he come? That is the question,” he said.
According to Twente Insite, the Dutch club have a deal in principle to buy the player for €1.5m. They are awaiting Rangers’ decision to see if they can complete the operation.
Voetbal International also spoke to the manager about the Dutchman and Twente Insite have relayed his comments. He expects the operation to eventually go through.
“We have been in contact, I hope he returns. No point of discussion. I assume that it will work out. But in football you can never be sure of such things,” Oosting explained.
