Como goalkeeper Emil Audero has ended up on Watford’s agenda for the winter market.
The 28-year-old has failed to keep a clean sheet and conceded 18 goals from eight league games this season. He’s made one appearance in the past two months as Como manager Cesc Fàbregas dropped him to the bench.
Gianluca Di Marzio covers Watford’s interest in the stopper when discussing the Serie A side’s plans for January.
He states the Italian is ‘on the way out’ as Como are working on his exit. Watford are in the picture to secure the goalkeeper’s services, and the journalist adds the Championship side want to sign him on a loan deal.
This is a key part that needs sorting out because Como have reached their limit for loaning out players abroad.
Di Marzio claims Audero could leave if one of the players out on loan were to return to the Italian club. The other option would be for Udinese to buy the Como stopper, and they can send him on loan to Watford in January.
Both Udinese and Watford are owned by the Pozzo family, and it’s believed their involvement is needed to help the Hornets sign Audero on loan.
