Earlier today, we covered the latest in Germany about Watford’s attempts to sign Ben Manga from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The news came from their Sky Sports, through their journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reveal the club chief, who was rumoured to be talking to an English side, was in fact in ongoing talks with Watford.

Manga has been a success at Frankfurt since taking over, and is the reason why they have pulled off so many good transfers over the past few years, including the free acquisition of Randal Kolo-Muani from Nantes.

This is exactly what Watford will want as they continue their quest to return to the Premier League after last season’s relegation, and it appears they could do get their man at no cost.

Plettenburg returned to Twitter late on on Monday afternoon to report that the discussions between Manga and Watford are ‘ongoing and positive’.

Not only that, but Sky Germany have ‘been told that he could leave Frankfurt for free regardless of his release clause’.

As for who would replace Manga should he leave for Watford, that could be Timmo Hardung, who is currently the head of first-team football at Eintracht.
