Following his departure from Leeds United, Victor Orta continues to be linked to new destinations.
Since the Spaniard left the Whites, many stories in the Spanish media have been claiming that he could be on his way to Sevilla, since Monchi was expected to leave his job.
However, as Vamos Mi Sevilla today feature an update on that situation, they show a very different scenario at the La Liga side.
The outlet confirms that the Spanish club have been interested in Orta since he left Leeds. The problem is that Monchi doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
He reportedly made it clear he doesn’t want to leave. But there’s another person walking away from the Nervion side, and that’s his right-hand-man Fernando Navarro, who could go to Barcelona.
That’s where Orta is brought in. The outlet says the former Leeds chief could arrive at Sevilla in a role where he’d help Monchi and also prepare for the job for the time when his compatriot leaves.
We’re still to see whether Orta would accept that kind of position, especially because it’s impossible to guess when Monchi could actually leave.
