Over the past two months, the Italian press has linked Aston Villa manager Unai Emery with a move to AS Roma.

The Birmingham club had an impressive run in the Europe this season and the Spaniard could guide them to another finish inside the Champions League spots.

Emery has taken Aston Villa to new heights and it is no surprise that clubs are monitoring him with interest.

TeleRadioStereo have now spoken to the ex-Sevilla manager and he was directly asked about his future at Villa Park and whether he can become the next Roma manager.

Emery’s response was short and direct: “Now it is impossible.”

TeleRadioStereo state that the 53-year-old was quite clear about his stance and they believe that Emery will not be joining Roma in the summer.

Considering how the Italian club had sacked both Daniele de Rossi and Ivan Juric in the same season, it is perhaps a wise choice for the former Arsenal manager to stay at Aston Villa beyond this season.

Emery’s current contract at the Villans expires in 2029, so the club should not be nervous about losing him anytime soon and will hope they keep competing at the highest level.
