Manchester United suffered a second straight league defeat when they lost 4-0 to Brentford on Saturday.
After losing 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend at Old Trafford, the Red Devils have been repeatedly linked with a few players and Adrien Rabiot is one of those.
Calciomercato state the Brentford defeat will see Manchester United ‘try to squeeze’ for the Juventus player, but will also make any market intervention planned ‘even more urgent’.
It’s claimed ‘new contacts’ are expected between Erik ten Hag’s side and the midfielder’s camp on Sunday. The English club’s priority is ‘concluding the negotiations’ with the 27-year-old’s mother and agent, Veronique, ‘as quickly as possible’.
The Turin club plan to bring in Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain to bolster their midfield. Rabiot’s move to the Premier League side would make ‘everything easier or at least faster’ for the Old Lady to sign the Argentine.
Calciomercato’s report is also backed up by Sport Mediaset. They state after Manchester United chief John Murtough travelled to Turin to hold talks with Veronique on Friday, ‘new contacts’ are now expected between the Red Devils and Rabiot’s entourage.
