FK Molde have today announced the arrival of Mads Jørgensen, who has brought to an end a long association with Liverpool.

The Norwegian club have issued a press release on their website which states the 45-year-old was ‘a key figure in identifying and scouting talent for one of the world’s biggest clubs’ whilst he was working for Liverpool over a period of more than 20 years.

Jørgensen lives in Copenhagen and will presumably cover the Scandinavian region for FK Molde, which will be similar to what he did for the Premier League club for so long.

After having to cut his professional playing career short in 2008, due to a series of persistent injuries, Jørgensen – a one cap international for Denmark – moved into football recruitment and that soon saw Liverpool offer him a role with them.

There’s no indication of why Jørgensen has decided to leave his role with the Anfield side, and it may simply be a case of having a more important role offered at FK Molde.
