Eintracht Frankfurt director of football Markus Krösche has ‘no intention’ of joining Chelsea this summer as he fears he would be overruled by Todd Boehly.

That’s according to BILD, who say the Blues have put Krösche at the top of their list of candidates to lead them going forwards.

They explain that Boehly and co are looking for a club boss with football expertise to lead their project moving forwards and had been attracted to Krösche, who has enjoyed success at RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt.

He’s enjoyed a particularly strong track record in the transfer market, signing the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Josko Gvardiol, Randal Kolo Muani and Jesper Lindström among others.

That has impressed Chelsea and they want him but Krösche ‘has no intention’ of leaving Eintracht and moving to Stamford Bridge.

That’s because it cannot be ruled out that Boehly ‘would continue to interfere’ in sporting matters in the future, having already done so heavily since his arrival at the club last summer.

Krösche appreciates his ‘creative freedom’ as a board member in Frankfurt, having left Leipzig following issue with then boss Oliver Mintzlaff.

He now likes the job he has and the lack of interference from above him and so wouldn’t be interested in Chelsea or solving their current ‘crisis’.
