Following the change of managers at Bayern Munich, it appears the idea of signing Harry Kane from Tottenham has gone a bit cold.
The English forward was widely seen as the ideal successor to Robert Lewandowski, and a lot of ink had been used to try and push this transfer to happen.
However, with the emergence of Victor Osimhen, and Thomas Tuchel now in charge in Bavaria, the Tottenham star could end up either staying in London or moving somewhere other than Germany, as per Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper look at Bayern’s alleged interest in the Nigeria international, who has been impressing over at Napoli, and then spend some time talking about how he has taken over from Kane in the list of favourites to replace Lewandowski.
That being said, despite all that, ‘convincing Levy to let him go is now easy’, and with Bayern already flopping with the signing of Sadio Mané last summer, the €100m fee that would be required to sign Kane is ‘considered disproportionate’.
They know that signing the forward would be an ‘absolute guarantee’, but they also know he would be a short-term solution and not the long one they are looking for.
This is why names such as Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani have grown in prominence while the Tottenham star’s has quickly disappeared, perhaps much to the relief of Levy.
