Brought in by Antonio Conte at Tottenham after a successful spell together at Inter Milan, Ivan Perisic did well under the Italian manager despite the club’s struggles, but he doesn’t appear to be of any use to Ange Postecoglou.
Destiny Udogie’s return from the loan at Udinese means there will be some more competition for the Croatian, and talk of a transfer to Fenerbahçe has been picking up.
Both Fanatik and Aksam Spor have articles surrounding the Tottenham player, who seems to be heading for the exit door this summer.
Starting with the former of the two, they claim that the defender and Spurs ‘are in talks to terminate’ the remaining one-year Perisic has left on his contract, which would, in turn, make him a free agent.
That seemingly suits Fenerbahçe perfectly, and the outlet claims they are ‘waiting for these negotiations to be concluded’, at which point an offer would be made.
However, the fact that Tottenham want rid of him and are allowing this to take place without a transfer fee has somewhat backfired for the Turkish side.
This is the angle Aksam Spor take, as they claim Perisic has since ‘increased both the signing on fee and salary conditions to astronomical levels’.
The 34-year-old knows this is likely to be his last big contract, and while he was recommended to the Süper Lig side through his agents, their demands are at a ‘very high level’.
That’s why Fenerbahçe have ‘not yet taken any steps’, who was offered as early as four months ago, and even if there was any interest, his demands will not be met.
