When the January transfer window started, it seemed like Pierre-Emile Højbjerg was one of the strongest candidates to leave Tottenham Hotspur.
The Italian media had been making big noise about the chase for the midfielder, and so far, no one managed to find an agreement for his move.
An update on Højbjerg’s situation is today brought by Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, who claims the Tottenham player is ‘open to a new challenge’.
It’s said the midfielder wants to play more regularly, despite the 90 minutes he had against Manchester United last weekend.
Tottenham aren’t that sure about his departure, though, as Daniel Levy is said to be against a loan with an option to buy. That’s why there’s talk of either a permanent transfer or a loan with an obligation for a purchase.
Juventus, who’ve been linked to Højbjerg for months now, are still said to be interested in him. Plettenberg makes it clear that Bayern Munich are ‘not involved’ in the pursuit.
It seems it’s up to the Old Lady to make their attempt, then, although they seem to be taking too long now.
