Earlier this month, Tottenham Hotspur had emerged as a potential destination for Genoa’s Koni De Winter.

While West Ham were also mentioned as an interested party, it seems as if Ange Postecoglou’s side could be leading the race for the Belgian, who can play at both centre-back and right-back.

InterLive have reported that while De Winter’s qualities as a defender are really liked by Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, Premier League clubs are also attracted by his physical traits.

As of now, Tottenham are said to be at the forefront for his signature but Ange Postecoglou’s side will ‘need to complete some sales’ before signing 22-year-old De Winter.

The report believes that if De Winter continues to impress for Genoa this season, more clubs could join the race for him and threaten Tottenham’s chase.

In the meantime, Inter Milan are also an interested party and have some confidence. The outlet expect them to intensify contacts with the player’s entourage in the next few weeks and this can threaten Spurs’ move for the ex-Juventus man.
