Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Lille star Jonathan David in 2025, according to Calciomercato.

The striker’s deal expires in 2025 and is ‘increasingly convinced’ of leaving Lille in January or next summer. The Ligue 1 side, on the other hand, want to retain him until the end of this season.

David’s contract situation has seen several clubs, including Tottenham, Juventus and Inter Milan position themselves to sign him.

He’s been linked to Barcelona and Bayern Munich, while Manchester United are following the 24-year-old.

Calciomercato claim the club ‘most intent on taking concrete steps’ to secure his services are Spurs. There’s no mention of what Ange Postecoglou’s side want to do to agree a deal with the Canada international.

Earlier this week, Sport reported Tottenham have made an important offer to the player.

Juventus and Inter will have to overcome the north London club to acquire the frontman’s signature. It won’t be easy because Spurs have better finances than the Serie A duo and this is the ‘difficult obstacle’ for the two Italian clubs.

With Tottenham keen to take ‘concrete steps’, they hope to find an agreement with David soon to avoid tussle with other clubs.

The Canadian managed 17 goals and four assists from 24 games this season.
