Tottenham Hotspur have become the latest club to join the race for Stade Rennais’ Désiré Doué this summer.
The 19-year-old graduated from the Ligue 1 side’s academy, and made his first team debut in August 2022. He made 42 appearances last season, managing four goals and five assists in the process.
According to L’Equipe, the winger is being chased by three clubs and Tottenham are now added to this list.
As well as Spurs, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Chelsea have shown interest in the youngster. The Bundesliga side even made a €35m bid and it was rejected by Stade Rennais.
It’s claimed Bayern are not alone as Tottenham, PSG and the Blues are in the ‘position to go on the offensive’ to sign the France U21 international. The four clubs are currently the ‘most advanced’ in the race to sign the teenager.
Doué has two years left on his deal and Transfermarkt values him at €30m. L’Equipe claim the French club are hoping to earn €60m from his sale in this window.
Despite Tottenham being one of the ‘most advanced’ clubs, there’s no indication if they or another club are ready to meet Stade Rennais’ valuation to sign the attacker.
