Ever since Fabio Paratici arrived at Tottenham with his plans for the club, Lautaro Martínez was seen as the ideal Harry Kane replacement.
His first summer in charge of Spurs’ transfer came at a time when the England international was heavily linked with Manchester City, only for the move to never happen.
Despite Paratici no longer being at Tottenham, his transfer targets remain, and with Harry Kane once again being linked with a move elsewhere, Gazzetta dello Sport believe the Inter Milan star is back on the agenda.
That’s what they state on Wednesday, revealing a meeting the Serie A club had with an intermediary, who brought the ‘concrete interests’ from Spurs and another Premier League side in the player.
Interestingly, that other team are Manchester United, who are the ones putting Tottenham in this position in the first place with their interest in the aforementioned Kane.
That’s because despite their need for money, they have no interest in selling their star striker, valued at ‘at least €80m’, preferring to offload other elements of their squad instead.
The approach from Tottenham was ‘nipped in the bud’, for the second time in a number of years after they made a €90m+ bid two summers ago.
As for Martínez in all this, he’s happy in Milan and ‘doesn’t have the slightest intention of moving’ and certainly wouldn’t force his way out to play in the Premier League at this moment in time.
