Sporting director Johannes Spors is one of ‘a number of’ options that Tottenham are looking at to replace Fabio Paratici at the club.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says Spors is among the potential candidates for the position and there has already been contact between the two parties.
Tottenham are on the hunt for a new sporting director after Paratici stepped down towards the end of April after originally losing an appeal against a 30 month ban from football handed down amid false accounting allegations at former club Juventus.
That was later extended to a worldwide ban by FIFA on March 29th, with Paratici originally only stepping back from his role at Tottenham before leaving permanently when his appeal was rejected.
That left Spurs desperately searching for an alternative option to take up the hotseat and, according to Plettenburg, Sports is ‘one of a number of’ candidates they are looking at.
He is currently the Global Sporting Director for a number of clubs including Hertha BSC, Genoa, Standard Liege and Melbourne Victory, who are all owned by 777 Partners.
The journalist reports that ‘there was contact’ between him and Tottenham ‘in the last weeks’ although there have been no concrete negotiations between them as yet.
That could always change rapidly, though, and his name is one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks as Daniel Levy tries to get his house in order.
