Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison is involved in a weird transfer rumour in his home country’s media this week.

The reason is that Brazilian legend Edmundo, who has a Youtube Channel to talk about Vasco da Gama, suggested his signing for the next year.

The Rio de Janeiro club are currently fighting against relegation, but the former striker and his mates believe in a turnaround for the 2024 season, with a potential fight for the title.

That’s why Edmundo claims Vasco should go after Tottenham and try to get Richarlison signed on some kind of a loan deal.

“Next year, 2024, will be two years away from a World Cup. Everyone wants to be close to the coach of the Brazilian national team. So opportunities will arise,” said Edmundo.

“It doesn’t cost you anything to knock on Tottenham’s door. ‘So, Richarlison, are you happy there? Your grandfather is a Vasco fan… would you be willing to go to Vasco to earn a little less?’ Tottenham would loan him out, extend his contract.”

Like we said above, Vasco first need to avoid relegation and only then think of making signings for the next year.

They may have signed former West Ham star Dimitri Payet last summer, but bringing Richarlison from Tottenham would be a completely different story.

The striker would certainly make some sacrifices to get a chance to be in the 2026 World Cup, but returning to Brazil at his age is something that he could hardly even imagine, especially to a club who’ve been struggling so much in the past few years.
