Even though it wasn’t an especially high value transfer, Emerson Royal moving from Tottenham Hotspur to AC Milan has perhaps been the saga of the summer.
The two clubs spent weeks arguing about relatively small details, and at the end it looked like the Rossoneri were continuing to debate, and general lose, on each million involved in the transfer agreement.
Journalist Bruno Andrade now reports that after selling Emerson Royal to Milan, Tottenham ‘have opened talks’ to sign Vanderson from AS Monaco.
The Ligue 1 side are said to be expecting a bid from Spurs which will stand at around €40m.
Vanderson is 23-years-of-age, he plays on the right side, primarily as a right-back or wing-back, even pushed a bit further forward at times.
Tottenham have Pedro Porro, who is 24-years-of-age, and made 37 appearances at right-back last season. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that they could player together but it’s surely unlikely.
Emerson Royal played a mixture of right-back, left-back, and central defence last season.
