Lecce star Morten Hjulmand has ended up in the sights of Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report from Italy.
The midfielder was vital in helping the Italian club clinch promotion to the top flight by winning Serie B last season.
Calciomercato now explain the 23-year-old isn’t just a midfielder but an ‘all-rounder’, leader and captain, on and off the pitch. He’s also a transfer market man as other clubs, including Tottenham, are looking at him.
Southampton tabled a €13m offer towards the end of January but it was turned down by the Serie A side. There isn’t a shortage of clubs keen on the player, with bigger clubs now coming forward.
AS Roma and Napoli have already talked about the player with his employer while Spurs and Borussia Dortmund have sent scouts to watch him in action for Lecce. Calciomercato state these clubs are ‘all enchanted’ by Hjulmand.
With Tottenham and three other clubs in the mix to sign the Dane, it’s claimed he’s ‘ready to take off’, likely in the summer window.
Hjulmand has five assists from 22 matches in all competitions this season for Lecce.
