Tottenham Hotspur are in the picture to sign Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat.

Earlier this month, the midfielder’s brother admitted top clubs are lining up to take the 26-year-old away from the Serie A side. He didn’t provide details of these sides that are looking at the player.

La Repubblica relay this and explain that Tottenham are among them showing interest in the Morocco international.

Antonio Conte wanted the ex-Feyenoord man at the north London club at the start of this year. After ‘being close’ to signing him last January, the report now explain Spurs could ‘come back’ to secure his services.

That’s because Amrabat is starring for his national team at the 2022 World Cup. Operating as a defensive midfielder, the Serie A man has been instrumental in Morocco’s campaign at the FIFA tournament so far, where they have conceded only one goal from four matches.

Fiorentina were worried they would not be able to recoup the €20m investment made in 2020. This has now been overcome after his impressive performances at the World Cup, which has seen his valuation increase.

According to La Repubblica, Amrabat is worth at least €25-30m and the figure could rise if there is an auction for his signature, although it’s made clear a transfer in January would be difficult to pull off due to his importance this season for La Viola.

Tottenham will be joined by Liverpool in the chase to sign the Fiorentina player.
