Earlier this week, Tottenham Hotspur completed the signing of Micky van de Ven from VfL Wolfsburg.
Ange Postecoglou has admitted the need to bring in another centre-back this summer despite Van de Ven’s arrival. His compatriot Perr Schuurs could be an option for the Premier League side.
That’s at least what Torino Granata are reporting and then state Tottenham could make an assault to sign the Torino star.
It’s claimed the 23-year-old’s name is back on the north London club’s agenda.
Urbano Cairo, the Serie A side’s president, don’t intend to sell the defender a year after he signed him. That doesn’t mean a deal cannot be carried out this summer.
Spurs’ interest in Schuurs is discussed by La Stampa journalist Francesco Manassero. He told TMW Radio that the former Ajax man’s sale cannot be ruled out after Torino invested over €20m to strengthen their squad.
Manassero states Tottenham could be an option for the player as they have been keeping close tabs on him.
“In practice, however, fresh money would be useful: the club has spent over €20m… A sale cannot be ruled out,” he said.
“Given the friction with Lazio for Ricci, the blanket is revealed for Schuurs. The Premier League is on him, in addition to Crystal Palace there is Tottenham and Spurs have been following him for months.”
Apart from Schuurs, Barcelona’s Clément Lenglet continues to be an option for Tottenham to bolster the centre-back position.
