Bologna have the headache of Premier League interest in two of their important players, reports Gazzetta dello Sport in their Tuesday edition.
The Italian newspaper explains that Mattias Svanberg had been in constructive renewal talks with the Serie A side, with things thought to be coming to a close. The 22-year-old midfielder has a contract expiring in June 2023, and there had been confidence that a renewal wasn’t far away.
However, Tottenham are said to be keen, and that situation makes things more complicated for Bologna, with Svanberg’s agents obviously knowing there’s greater riches in English football.
Aaron Hickey, who is also 22-years-of-age, is attracting interest from Aston Villa.
That had earlier been claimed in both the English and Italian media, and it’s now a rumour backed up by Gazzetta dello Sport.
There’s no indication on potential prices for either player, and it doesn’t appear that either Tottenham or Aston Villa have made a serious move at this stage, but the prospect of either club swooping is giving Bologna something to think about.
